Current GAC Schedule of Events
The GAC has been on hiatus during the summer months.
We are beginning to resume our activities.
Walter Powell resigned and then re-surfaced. We were lulled into a sort of peaceful summer, but that has unfortunately changed. We are also concerned that the Boro has appointed a new Boro Manager, from within the administration, without going through the proper procedures that they said they would back in February. Without even running an ad in a local paper, let alone a National search they promised. Same old same-old .
We have also lost a Police Chief to resignation, amid a bizarre series of events. Something seems amiss in Gettysburg. We need to make this town work better. We need the elected officials to become more accountable for their actions.
WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS TO BECOME INVOLVED! Call.

The Gettysburg Action Coalition
The Gettysburg Action Coalition is a grassroots organization concerned with the Borough Administration in Gettysburg, PA.
Through our research, we have found many anomalies in the day-to-day operations of our town, which have prompted our actions.
Our first public effort will be the Town Meeting. In this meeting, we will attempt to enlighten the citizens and business owners of Gettysburg Borough of the inconsistencies and unlawful activities of our elected officials and their appointed officers.
We feel that once the citizens, business owners, landlords and property owners are made aware of their rights, then the Borough will no longer be allowed to abuse its powers unfettered and unchecked.
Join us in our efforts. We are convinced that only with a concerted voice will we succeed in making Gettysburg the fine town that it should be, and enable its citizens to live free from fear of local government officials.
| Stories of Abuse
In the near future, we hope to include documented stories of the abuse of powers by officials in the Boro.
If you care to share these with us, we will be glad to publish them here. We feel it's important for the citizens to realize that they are not alone. |
| Possible Class Action Suit Against the Borough of Gettysburg
If you are interested in joining a CLASS ACTION SUIT against the Borough of Gettysburg, we are looking for participants. Depending on the interest in one of several possible suits, we will determine which one to pursue at this time. If you have documentation of abuse by the Borough, please inform us. Some areas we are considering are:
Selective Enforcement of Ordinances
Unconstitutional Rental Unit Inspections
Unlawful Citations
Unlawful Activity by Borough Officials
Restriction of Commercial Speech
Abuse, Specifically by Walter Powell
We feel confident that we will be going forward with one, or a few, of these in the near future.
